Click tracking and counts

UTM.io can track link clicks for links shortened using our utm.io shortener, custom branded domains, and now Bitly! 

General: 

Click tracking counts total clicks, not unique. 

UTM.io does not set cookies on users clicking through the link.

Non-Shortened Links:

Unfortunately, links that are not shortened do not currently have any click metrics.This is because when visitors click on these links they don't pass through utm.io's servers hence impacting our ability to track clicks. 

For tracking non-shortened links you should look them up in google analytics landing page reports. If you need help setting up reporting, we would love to help. Contact us at [email protected] to find out how.

UTM.io or Custom Branded Domain Click Counts:

If you want real-time click tracking for all your shortened links, please use a custom-branded domain or the preconfigured utm.io shortener (available on paid plans).

Shortened links filter out bots in their click counts

Bitly Click Counts:

Due to Bitly's API limitations, we do have a limit on the number of links we can provide data for at any given time. 

We'll be working on updating this to provide the best user experience, but currently, click data is refreshed hourly and only for the most recent 25 links. If you have any questions or want to give us your feedback, please feel free to email us at [email protected].
